From the very early days, SecF's founders established alliances with leading appliance and systems software / hardware manufacturers like Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Oracle Corporation, IBM, Compaq, etc. for augmenting their core product engineering in the areas of product development, maintenance / sustenance, porting and QA.

Systems Software
Second Foundation has extensive expertise and a proven track record in systems software development spanning a wide range of platforms including UNIX (multiple variants including Solaris, Linux, BSD, HP-UX, AIX, etc.), Windows (from Windows 9x to XP), and other platforms (HP NonStop, IBM MVS / VM / VSE, etc.)

Our systems expertise covers both software that runs in kernel mode (e.g. kernel, device drivers, STREAMS modules, etc.) and in user mode (e.g. daemons / services, management software, utilities and tools, etc.).

We have extensive experience of internetworking / protocols and I/O subsystems, including the TCP/IP stack, SS7, VoIP, ATM, RAID, SCSI / iSCSI, Fibre Channel / FCIP and SAN.

Firmware
Our firmware expertise includes application development, device drivers and kernel enhancements / modifications. We have worked with a wide variety of embedded platforms / RTOS' including VXWorks, pSOS, IOS, eCOS, QNX, etc. running on a variety of appliances including routers and switches, streaming video, VoIP, handheld appliances, telco appliances, intelligent controllers and motherboards, etc.
